Easter Parade
You can bet those eggs in the basket didn’t make it past 5pm.
Today at school there was an Easter Parade for all the prep classes. They were very well behaved! They sang a song and then walked past their family members in their hand made hats and masks.
For some reason EM was too nervous to walk by himself. Stage fright?
There was a little party in the classroom after with family members.
Towel Boy
So this week we contracted nits/head lice for the first time and it was a learning experience for both of us.
I vaguely remember my mother having to douse us in foul smelling insecticide and comb through our hair with a very fine tooth comb, cursing my often long hair.
Now however the recommended method is to have a special nit comb and to use hair conditioner on the head and just comb them out. Seems they’ve become resistant to pesticides.
We did do a round of a Banlice Mousse first to slow down the bigger lice - was very easy to use and didn’t smell too bad. Not much movement when we combed them all out.
Instead of straight conditioner I mixed up a spray bottle with conditioner, a few drops of tea tree oil and eucalyptus oil and water, this worked really well and was much easier to comb through. Elliot Mason was very patient - in fact he was excited that he had nits and then to see their corpses in the tissue I wiped the comb with.
At least now we have a plan of attack - and a couple comb throughs a week will help keep things in check since he’s refusing to let his head be shaved.

Another Award
EM was really pleased with this one since he looooves Cat in the Hat.
Puppy Cleaning
EM helps with giving Drum a bath.
168 Metres Eaten
That’s the distance Elliot Mason swam today at swim class. Each term they have this challenge over a short distance and its the first time he’s been good enough to attempt it.
I’m proud of him for using “big arms” and doing freestyle - although I went Tiger Mother on him after the first 10 minutes when he shouted out “Mum! I’m tired” and I replied to him to just be strong and get on with it.
He did.
