flood gates

Just had the mother of all nursing sessions. Turns out Elliot doesn’t like formula - but now he’s had the real thing he can’t stop…

  • Hooray!! smile  Are you home yet?

Breast Feeding is hard work.  Both you and Elliot need time to learn how to do it.  The idea of Elliot latching on and sucking beautifully with little help from you will be months away.  But it is worth it..  Well I thought so.  However, a happy calm mum is better than stressed out tired and cranky one, so if breast feeding is too stressful and fraught with trouble, go the bottle.

Hope you are able to get some restt

        • I’m so pleased to hear that things are improving! Stay calm, as others have told you, you both need a little practice to get the hang of it.

          • Good luck with the nursing.  The first few days weren’t easy for me either but now Zach’s a champ.  Brace yourself for more marathon feeds, your little guy is gonna be HUNGRY for the next few weeks…

            • What they said. We had difficulties too, primarily on my end, and wound up mostly bottle-feeding with pumped breast milk. Stressing about it is the worst thing you can do. So glad you’re home now, although I’ll bet you’ll miss those old ladies making you such pretty dinners. smile

              • The best thing is you don’t have to mix formula or heat up the bottle when you leave home to go visiting friends or to a trip. Good for you, MJ. Barbara grin
